A first choice of the NFL under arrest warrant !!

Covering !!

Jalen Carter, considered the hottest defensive prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft and a potential first-round pick, finds himself in hot water with a warrant for his arrest for dangerous driving and racing.

Carter, a tackle for the University of Georgia Bulldogs, was scheduled to meet the media in Indianapolis on Wednesday morning as part of the NFL's evaluation camp. He was obviously conspicuous by his absence.

On Jan. 15, following Georgia's second consecutive national college championship, a tragic car accident claimed the lives of offensive lineman Devin Willcock and scout Chandler LeCroy.

In the final hours, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution daily reported that Carter was present at the scene of the crash and then allegedly provided conflicting information to Athens-Clarke County police, who issued the warrant. arrest Wednesday morning.

In the investigation report, it is stated that Carter and LeCroy were driving their car in what appeared to be a race.

“The two vehicles were shown to change lanes in addition to ending up in opposite directions, in high-speed driving in an attempt to distance themselves,” it says.

On the scene of the accident, Carter would have left the scene before the arrival of the emergency services.

According to documents obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as well as recordings of the 911 call, the defensive lineman then returned two hours later to the scene of the accident.

He reportedly first told police he heard the crash when he was at an apartment near the scene. However, he reportedly later mentioned to an officer that he was driving both behind and beside the other vehicle.

Wilcock, 20, died at the scene, while LeCroy, 24, was pronounced dead in hospital.

Jalen Carter met with the police. On Wednesday, at 11:23 p.m. precisely, he presented himself to the authorities.

He was released 16 short minutes later, after being charged with dangerous driving and racing on public roads. He posted $4,000 bail for the right to leave.

Earlier, the defensive tackle had announced that he would ultimately not participate in the Scouting Combine.

It should be noted that Carter does not risk any sanction from the NFL, since the facts took place before his arrival in the league.

His rating during the Draft could, on the other hand, suffer from these events. He is regularly mentioned in the Top 5 of the next selection. He had 18.5 sacks in three seasons with the Bulldogs!!
